On March 29, Yang Fan, spokesman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said at the regular press conference of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in March that the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, as the country's largest trade and investment promotion agency and the spokesperson of Chinese industrial and commercial enterprises, has always taken promoting the deepening of exchanges and cooperation between the business communities of China and the United States as an important mission.
As early as 2005, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the US Department of Commerce launched the "China-Us International Partnership Network Cooperation Project", which was renamed the "China-Us Business Cooperation Docking Project" (CMP) in 2007. Over the past 19 years, the two sides have held more than 100 thematic docking events in advanced manufacturing, rail transit, energy conservation, environmental protection, financial services and investment cooperation, benefiting more than 2,000 Chinese and US companies. On March 5, the China-Us (Chongqing) Investment Seminar, the first event of the CMP project this year, was held, with more than 130 representatives of Chinese and American enterprises attending.
Yang Fan said that a few days ago, with the approval of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the International Trade Department of the US Department of Commerce, the new Sichuan, Anhui and Hainan Council for the Promotion of International Trade as CMP project offices, the number of CMP project offices in the country reached 25. Ccpit will also cooperate with the US side to hold a China-Us investment seminar and other thematic docking activities in Zhengzhou, Xi 'an and Guangzhou in the fields of financial services, green and low-carbon, rail transit, and further amplify the role of the CMP project as a platform.
Recently, Suzanne Clark, President and CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce, Craig Allen, President of the US-China Business Council, and leaders of Ford Motor, Procter & Gamble, Micron and other well-known American companies visited CCPIT. "At the invitation of the US Chamber of Commerce and other counterpart organizations, we also plan to organize a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit the US in June." Yang Fan said that the business communities of China and the United States are "voting with their feet" and should cooperate instead of decoupling, which is the aspiration of the people and the hope of China-Us relations.
In terms of China-Australia relations, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade recently completed the "Doing Business in Australia 2023" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") through in-depth research in the form of questionnaires, expert symposia, enterprise exchanges and field visits.
The report shows that Australia's market maturity and economic development resilience are at a high level. 37.6% of the surveyed enterprises believe that the business environment in Australia is better, and 79.8% of the surveyed enterprises are more optimistic about the change of the business environment in Australia. In 2023, the business situation of Chinese enterprises in Australia showed a stable and good trend, 57.5% of the surveyed enterprises said that in 2023, the operation in Australia to achieve profit, revenue, profit and market share growth of enterprises accounted for about 50%, 45.4% of the surveyed enterprises plan to expand the scale of business in Australia. At the same time, the surveyed companies also have expectations for the business environment in Australia, such as preferential policies, and the right to fair competition for foreign companies.
Yang Fan introduced that the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade plans to organize a delegation of entrepreneurs to visit Australia and New Zealand, carry out extensive trade and investment industry promotion activities, and further strengthen the economic and trade ties and practical cooperation between China and Oceanian countries.
